Secret Tips For T Shirt Care

Everyone wants to keep their new printed tees looking new. This is not always as simple as it seems. T shirts tend to gain a fuzzy texture and the color fades. Screen printed shirts are often printed incorrectly, and will

begin cracking and creasing. These are few tips that we have learned in the business that can help your new tees keep their new look longer.

Tip #1

Turn your t shirts inside out when washing and drying in order to keep the colors from fading and prints from cracking. This also prevents materials from rubbing together and building fuzz on the outside.

Tip #2

We have all heard that sorting clothes by color helps prevent fading. However, sorting clothes by texture will also help to prevent rubbing of harder fabrics against softer clothes making fuzz and wearing the material.

Tip #3

Wash all t shirts in cold water. There is really no need to wash regular clothing in hot water. Normal, everyday wear is sufficiently cleaned with cool or cold water, which will help prevent fading and shrinking.

Tip #4

Remove t shirts from the dryer right before they get completely dry, and air dry the rest of the way. This helps prevent shrinking almost completely, since the clothes shrink when they are warmed.

Tip #5

Add a dash of pepper in your washer to keep clothes looking brighter for longer.

Tip #6

Zip up your zippers. Zipper can snag or rub other clothes, making them worn and rough. Also, zipping your zippers will prevent those awkward bends they tend to get when creased.

Tip #7

Printed shirts CANNOT be dry-cleaned!! Instead, use an option such as Dryel in your dryer for a quick refresh.

Tip #8

Hanging clothes for too long will cause the neck and shoulders to become stretched and mis shaped. To keep this from happening, store tees and sweaters folded in bins or drawers. Put dryer sheets in between layers to keep them smelling fresh.

Tip #9

Remember, hand-washing in cool water is always best. This is the gentlest way to wash clothing.

These simple laundry secrets will keep your favorite shirt around longer than ever, and all your other clothes just as great as the day you bought them.
